There is always a way...if you look hard enough!
Was in a bit of a first world panic this morning. We were out of dish soap and I desperately needed to get some dishes done. Could Mark have told me that we needed more soap before it was finished? Probably. Is it his birthday today? Definitely. Love you babe - no worries about the soap.
Anyhoo, I just haven’t had the time to head to a local refill store. With weddings, back-to-school, naps etc...I haven’t made it in awhile. And our low-waste household, going one day without dish soap just isn’t an option.
So I went to my local drug store after dropping the girls off to school and was dismayed to see that they only had the average dish soap. Sure, some of them were phosphate free, but all of them were encased in plastic.
Until, I fortudinously turned my head and saw a ray of sunshine shining on the @seventhgeneration dish soap. After reading the label, I loved what I l learned! Phosphate-Free, triclosan-free, plant-based and...wait for it...in recycled plastic!
I don’t feel guilty about buying needed items in recycled plastic. We need to create a viable market for it so companies see the value of using it. Otherwise we are spending tax money to recycle plastic that no one is using. That makes no sense. Spend money for the kind of world you want to live in, right?
So, thanks to seventh generation, my daughter will have clean containers for her lunch tomorrow! 🙌🏽 What are your thoughts on recycled plastic?
